Hey, guys! Today I’m doing something that I haven’t done in a long time. Most of my blog posts revolve around my photography business, but I wanted to share some photos with you from my recent vacation to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands!
I only took one camera body and one lens on this vacation because I wanted to pack light and challenge myself creatively. I brought my Canon 5DMkIII and 50mm lens, and it was so refreshing to only have one lens with me at all times! I debated on whether or not to take a zoom lens, but my 50mm was the one that I decided to bring because it was not nearly as heavy as some of my others.
Some of these photos were also taken with my iPhone because I didn’t always feel like carrying around my large camera. Here are some of my favorite photos of the BEAUTIFUL island of St. Thomas!
It REALLY startled me when I realized we would be driving on the opposite side of the road!
We spent a LOT of time on this balcony. The view was so beautiful!
This was what I looked like after traveling for countless hours, being up since 4:00 AM, and arriving on the island in ninety-degree heat while wearing jeans.
There were so many animals lounging around the beach and pool area.
Ignore how white my skin is for a moment and just LOOK at how clear that water is!!
We had a little mini photo shoot on the beach before supper one night, and I fell even more in love with this dress!!
We visited a historic part of St. Thomas that has been a military fort, the governor’s home, a church, and countless other things over the past few hundred years.
This little guy didn’t mind getting up close and personal on the beach. He even swam with me in the pool!
This is a cell phone picture of the sunset on our last night. I kept kicking myself for not having my camera with me, but I still think this shows the beautiful colors pretty well!
