I first met Erica and Justin at their engagement session at Cades Cove last fall. We had quite an experience – from not being able to find one another in a location without cell service, to dealing with some interesting hikers that didn’t want us taking photos. They made the best of it, and I knew right then that they were going to be an amazing pair to work with on their wedding day! (Thankfully we didn’t deal with those sorts of obstacles on May 12th.)
This wedding hit home for me, as Erica and I both lost our fathers a few years ago. She had two very special uncles that stepped in on her wedding day, and her super sweet mother walked her down the aisle to her future husband. When Carla was asked who gave her daughter to be married to Justin, she answered “her father and I.” Let’s just say I lost it right then and there!
As someone who considers my mother to be one of my best friends, it was so special to see a bride with such a strong bond with her momma. I met up with Carla and Erica a few weeks before the wedding at a sketchy McDonald’s (what’s up with us and these weird situations?! 😂), and I loved that they seemed like such a closely knit pair.
Justin and Erica got ready with their groomsmen and bridesmaids, had a beautiful ceremony in the field at The Barn at Cedar Ridge, and enjoyed dancing and drinks at their indoor barn reception. Here are some of my favorite images from their beautiful wedding!

Yall…Justin and his groomsmen had the MOST fun while they were getting ready. Lawn mowers, pool tables, water hoses…the list goes on and on.
Erica’s first look with her uncles was one of the sweetest parts of the day!
Erica danced with each of her uncles. At the end of the song, her new father-in-law came and finished the dance with her. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room.
Amazing Photography. You captured it ALL!!!
