LONG TIME, NO SEE! I’m in the middle of my busy season, which means I have three weddings and at least six sessions in my editing catalog on any given day. I have a little break in my wedding season coming up for the next month, and I’m hoping (fingers crossed) to share lots of gorgeousness on my blog during that time!
Today I wanted to share Emily + Kevin’s engagement session from earlier this summer. I’ve talked about this a little bit on my Instagram, but the weather on the day of their session was SCARY.
A little backstory – Emily + Kevin are both living in Florida, but they were able to come to Tennessee for the weekend in June. We had ONE day that we could do their engagement session, and the weather didn’t look good. I drove through a tornado warning in Jefferson county on my way to their session. My mom called me to warn me about the weather. I met another photographer to sell some equipment on my way to the shoot, and we talked about how scary the forecast looked. I prayed and prayed on the way to our location that the little break I had seen on the weather radar was accurate.
Fast forward half an hour and I arrived at our session. The sunset coming over the water was STUNNING. There was a little breeze, but no rain in sight. We shot for almost two hours in the most BEAUTIFUL weather I’ve had during an engagement session in MONTHS! I was so grateful that we didn’t get rained out, as this was our only opportunity to get their engagement photos before their wedding later this year.
Emily and Kevin were SUPER comfortable in front of the camera, and that makes my job SO easy. I left our shoot feeling like I’d made such sweet friends, and I am so excited to photograph their wedding day this fall!
I love their laughter in this one!
