Abigail + Tyler // Howe Farms The Highlands Chapel Wedding

I’m SO excited to share Abigail + Tyler’s summer wedding at Howe Farms! Howe Farms has several venues within one venue, and Abigail + Tyler chose to get married at my personal favorite – The Highlands Chapel. As someone who LOVES an all white venue, this chapel was such a stunning backdrop for Abigail + Tyler’s big day!

You’ve seen these two on my blog before (here is their engagement session!), and I’ve been wanting to blog their wedding for such a long time now! (But you know – wedding season, a triplet pregnancy, moving, etc. It’s been a crazy few months. 😂)

Abigail is actually a lifestyle photographer as well, and she serves both East Tennessee AND North Georgia. She’s done two different photoshoots of us! She took our fall “family” photos (AKA us and our dogs haha) AND our second wedding anniversary photos! Here is her website – go check out her work!

I “met” Abigail + Tyler via a Zoom call during the craziness of the pandemic, and I KNEW before the call ended that they felt like one of my couples. We clicked in so many ways, share the same faith and values, and their personalities just made me feel so warm and fuzzy inside! In working with them at their engagement session and through the planning process for their wedding, I found so many things that I had in common with each of them. I was so excited to finally capture their day, and it was honestly one of my favorite weddings that I’ve been to in the 9+ years of doing this job.

A few of my favorite parts of their wedding day:

  1. Abigail + Tyler are SO close with their immediate families. As someone who is in a group text with my family that goes off every single day (and we all live within a few minutes of each other), I love seeing other families that are just as close. Abigail + Tyler’s parents and siblings were so kind and full of joy on the big day, and it was so wonderful to see so many happy tears and giggles during the getting ready process all the way through to the exit! (There are some sweet tear-jerker parent/child hugs at the end of the night that I just had to include in this blog post. Those get me every time.)
  2. Their first look was easily my favorite part of the day. Even though it was being captured by two photographers and two videographers, it felt so intimate, and I don’t even know if Abigail + Tyler remembered that we were there. They shared private vows and exchanged gifts in the same chapel that they would tie the knot in a few hours later. It was slow, calm, and so loving, and it is exactly why I LOVE first looks. It wasn’t just about Tyler seeing Abigail’s dress for the first time – it was about sharing some private time as (almost) husband and wife!
  3. Their portrait time was SO effortless because these two are so giggly + comfortable with one another. It was so easy to just step back and let them do their thing. Tyler is incredibly good at bringing out the wrinkly-nose giggles in Abigail, and my cheeks truly hurt from smiling after seeing them be so playful together!
  4. This is a random moment, but I will seriously never forget this. After being pronounced as husband and wife, Abigail’s sister Elizabeth *attempted* to fluff Abigail’s veil before she walked back down the aisle. But this new wife was so excited she seriously RAN back up the aisle with Tyler before her matron of honor could finish her work. I seriously cackled in the moment because it was SO cute + sweet but also so stinkin’ hilarious!

I could go on and on, but I’m sure you want to see photos. Here are some of my favorite images from Abigail + Tyler’s wedding at Howe Farms!
