Today’s blog post features photographs from Sara + Nick’s Dara’s Garden wedding in Knoxville, Tennessee! Mr. + Mrs. Wilson got married in April of this year at one of the most stunning wedding venues in East Tennessee. Dara’s Garden has some of the BEST getting ready suites I’ve ever worked in, with so much natural light and space for wedding parties to gather. Sara + Nick met as teens while working together! I LOVE photographing couples that have been together for several years and have essentially grown up together.
Sara + Nick were so comfortable and calm together on their wedding day. My two favorite moments from their day were actually when they weren’t even technically with one another! While Sara was getting ready, I was planning to take a silhouette shot of her against the window in the bridal suite on film. Right as I clicked the shutter, she said “hey, there’s Nick!” and tapped on the window! We all laughed out loud knowing that she was so excited to see him that she didn’t even think of the possibility that he might see her through the window before their first look.
My second favorite moment was when Sara was walking down the aisle. Nick had said he didn’t think he would cry, but as soon as he saw her, these HUGE tears came down his face and he was overcome with emotion. It was so incredibly sweet to see, and it is just further proof that having a first look does not take away any of the emotions that come when the ceremony begins!
